Appledore's Oldest Building

Docton Court Gallery is situated in the maritime village of Appledore in North Devon. It is one of the best of Appledore’s wide-ranging galleries and displays a variety of original works of art by artists local to North Devon, and from other parts of the Country. Also on offer are a large range of art cards, plus other crafts and gifts, which provide quality items for all pockets.

The Gallery was opened in May 2004 by David & Jenny Carter who moved to Appledore from Swindon, although David’s ancestors have lived in Appledore for many generations.

The historic Grade II* building in which the gallery is situated, has been sympathetically restored by David & Jenny, with the help of local craftsmen (See ’History page’ for more information).
