Welcome to Docton Court Gallery
Docton Court is a Gallery and Gift shop situated in the maritime village of Appledore in North Devon. We opened in 2004 after the Grade II* listed building was painstakingly restored by the current owners David & Jenny Carter.
Inside you will find an Aladdin's cave of treasures. We have a delightful mix of gifts, both locally-made and quirky items from further afield.
We lovingly choose everything that goes into our shop, sourcing as many items as we can from Devon & Cornwall artists and artisans. Our framed artwork tries to include as many local views as we can, and our featured photographers also specialise in North Devon coastal and village images.
If you are looking for jewellery, pewter-ware, coasters, bespoke mugs, tea-towels, candles, prints, ceramic-items, greetings-cards, scarves, and local books, then this is the place to come. We try and offer something for all budgets, whether it's postcards and pocket-money games for rainy days, or a special souvenir to remind you of your holiday. And if you are stuck for a gift-idea, then just come and browse.
Appledore is well-known for its crabbing on the quay, so if you need crabbing supplies then come to us. We also stock crabbing tea-shirts, badges, fridge-magnets, key-rings and cards to remind you of the one that got away!
Kids - come and explore our pirate chest - it's full of booty!
Picture framing is done on the premises using our in-stock mouldings.
We don't sell online, but if you like the look of any of the items shown on our What We Sell page, then just give us a ring and we'll be delighted to see how we can help.
See our History page for more information about the origins of this late Tudor property, and the restoration work which was undertaken by local craftsmen.
Whether you are a new customer, or one of our many regulars, we look forward to welcoming you to Docton Court Gallery next time you are in Appledore.
